Minimum time and minimum number of classes
are based on our testing cycles
even if a student chooses not to test. Students who meet the minimum
requirements, but then take time off from classes will need to
talk with the chief instructor to determine when they will be prepared to test.
Students who earn stripes (Ninja-6 and Jr, Teen and Adult White - Recommended
Black Belts)
must earn the RED skill tape stripe to be eligible to
test
even if they got a no-change the previous testing at this same rank.
See "other requirements" column for additional expectations for students to be
eligible to test.
Students who do not pass testing will not pay for the next testing at this same
rank.
Once the student passes to the new rank, you will then pay for the next testing.
(For example if a Brown Belt does not pass testing, you
do not pay for testing
until s/he passes and becomes a Senior Brown Belt and is signing up to test for
Red Belt)
Black Belts with longer time-in-rank requirements may test at the very next belt
testing as long as
they have been coming to class consistently each week of the new testing cycle.

(Once a student has earned the rank of 6th Degree Black Belt, there are no additional testings, but the time requirement to achieve the next rank is in years equal to the number of bars on the current belt. For example, once you are a 6th degree, you must wait 6 years to perform a demo and to be awarded your 7th Degree Black Belt.) | For students who meet time requirements, but stop coming to class for a period of time, the chief instructor will determine when they will be eligible to test. | # of classes required are per OUR testing cycle even if a student chooses not to test. |
